The spying helped a bit, but it was rather limited in the end. No real strategical decision or even smart thinking involved. It was full of good ideas, but for the 4X fan i have always been unfortunately none were being as good and throughout as they could be, leading in a gameplay being too "simple" with mostly everything being all about researching things to max and steamrolling then the galaxy map. I remember when i was waiting for the demo of Legions of Iron, i hoped a lot for a sequel to Imperium Galactica 2. Some changess include making fighters much smaller and removing the fast tracking turrets from battleships to make them less effective against fighters. They also added a bunch of balance changes and improvements to stability and the interface, except they also introduced the crash every half hour on vista and 7 bug. TSH has the special category broken up into military and civilian. And Special, which is everything else, including traders, transports, colony ships, and all space stations be they of the combat or non-combat variety. Spies, which is all spy ships, of which I believe there is only one type. Military, which is all military ships of any size. In LoI there are 3 categories for ships which each have an independent cap. Perhaps they were originally suposed to move but the feature was cut, like Sins, which was originally supposed to be closer to Star Ruler. It just has a line to show the path it would travel if it actually moved. Planets have orbits that it shows on the map, but they don't actually move along them. I'll clear up some things since I've played the game recently. But the maker of Vector Prime mod has apparently been working on a fix for it, and has recently announced having found one. Unfortunately Solon Heritage also has this weird sound system error that causes it to crash very often on Vista/7 and occasionally on XP too. There's also the Vector Prime Star Wars mod for Solon Heritage which is really great. Still the games are really cool and you can get both together on GOG. There's a kind of annoyingly low unit cap in the game for some reason though. You colonize planets and build them up in order to get resources to fund your war effort. Your ships can move in full 3D around different stellar systems with gates leading to other systems. It's sort of like a more complex and realistic realistic Sins of a Solar Empire, closer to Conquest if you know what that is. Which now that I think about it is probably even more obscure than Haegemonia so um.
